Artist Statement (Behind the work)

"In 'Burning Slowly,' I wanted to explore a chemical, slow-decay reaction—capturing the sensation of internal tension consuming a surface over time. Electric toxic green and vibrant magenta surge through a heavy, fractured dark purple crackle terrain. The intense contrast between the glowing fluid core and the heavily distressed, web-like crackle crust creates an atmospheric study in transformation—balancing high-energy radioactive brilliance with the quiet erosion of burning slowly from within."

About the Artwork

A high-voltage, expressive composition from the Acid on Canvas Series, "Burning Slowly" captures an intense chemical energy breaking through a fractured landscape. Crafted using a combination of fluid acrylics, cellular mediums, and crackle paste, the artwork pairs a glowing electric green and magenta fluid center with a heavily textured, dark purple crackle perimeter. Dynamic cellular lacing and distressed web structures create a striking visual effect reminiscent of acidic reactions tearing through an organic field.

Styling & Space
