How do I purchase or reserve an original artwork?

Every original MARÉA painting is an individual, handmade work of art. Complete details—including title, dimensions, medium, and year—are listed on our official Etsy shop. Acquisitions and reservations are processed directly through Etsy for full buyer protection.

Do you accept custom commissions?

Yes, custom commissions are accepted on a limited basis. If you are seeking a bespoke piece exploring themes of identity, vulnerability, and the human condition, please review our custom commissions page to begin the dialogue.

Does the artwork come with a Certificate of Authenticity?

Every original MARÉA painting is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity. It serves as a permanent record documenting the title, medium, dimensions, and year of creation. Please keep this document in a safe place alongside your purchase records.

Will the colors match what I see on my screen?

Photographs are captured to portray each piece as faithfully as possible. However, variations in screen calibration, monitor settings, and ambient room lighting can create minor visual nuances between the physical painting and digital screens.

Do I have Copyright & Ownership rights?

When you purchase an original MARÉA painting, you acquire ownership of the physical artwork.

Copyright and reproduction rights remain with the artist unless otherwise agreed in writing or transferred as permitted by law.

Purchasing an original painting does not automatically grant permission to reproduce, distribute, commercially exploit, or create derivative works from images of the artwork.

If you would like to discuss reproduction, publication, licensing, or another use of an artwork, please contact me to discuss permission.

How are original paintings packaged and shipped?

Each artwork is stretched on supporting wooden bars and framed according to individual specifications, arriving ready to hang. Paintings are carefully wrapped with heavy protective layers to safeguard the canvas, frame, and painted surface during transit from Germany.

What about international delivery, customs, and taxes?

We ship worldwide. Shipping costs, processing windows, and carrier tracking are provided during checkout. Please note that customs duties or import taxes may apply depending on your country's regulations and remain the collector's responsibility.

What should I do if an artwork arrives damaged?

If your package sustains damage during transit, please contact us immediately. Providing clear photographs of the exterior packaging and the damaged areas ensures a prompt resolution with the carrier.

How do I care for and display my painting?

DISPLAY: Choose a location away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive humidity, and significant temperature fluctuations. Avoid placing the painting directly beside radiators, fireplaces, or other sources of heat.

Cleaning: Keep the artwork free from dust where possible. Avoid rubbing or touching the painted surface, and do not use water, household cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials on it. If cleaning or conservation is required, consult a qualified art conservator.

HANDLING: Handle your painting with clean, dry hands and support the frame securely when moving it. Avoid pressing against the canvas or touching the painted surface unnecessarily.

STORAGE: If you need to store your painting, choose a clean, dry, stable environment and protect it from pressure, moisture, dust, and accidental impact.

Returns, cancellations and other questions

All purchases are made through Etsy. Order-related communication and requests concerning a purchase should be handled through Etsy.
