Artist Statement (Behind the Work)

"In 'Ghost of a Flower,' I wanted to evoke the delicate, haunting memory of organic life dissolving into shadow. Set against a heavily textured, dark obsidian ground, a fluid flame-like arc of crimson, magenta, and electric blue surges across the canvas like a phantom petal. The deep contrast between the tactile, matte crackled surface and the glossy, fluid lacing represents the lingering impression of something vivid long after it has faded—an emotional echo preserved in pigment."

About the Artwork

A compelling piece from the Acid on Canvas Series, "Ghost of a Flower" pairs expressive dark aesthetics with vibrant fluid movement. The artwork features a dramatic, dark-textured perimeter with micro-crackle relief, giving the canvas extraordinary physical presence. Piercing through the shadow is a vivid, spectral stream of rich crimson, hot pink, and icy blue fluid acrylic cells, mimicking the ethereal silhouette of a nocturnal bloom.
