Artist Statement (Behind the Work)

"In 'River of Night,' I explored the concept of quiet, nocturnal currents flowing through internal cosmic space. Deep midnight black forms a grounding, shadow-filled central channel, flanked by ethereal rivulets of metallic teal, electric cyan, amethyst purple, and iridescent magenta. The wave-like lacing and subtle sparkle mimic a bioluminescent river cut through shadow. On a borderless, circular tondo canvas, the movement feels infinite and multi-directional—offering a serene yet hypnotic focal point for quiet contemplation."

About the Artwork

A mesmerizing circular tondo masterpiece from the Acid on Canvas Series, "River of Night" captures the mysterious beauty of a celestial current surging through deep space. Fluid acrylics and cellular media interweave to create delicate web-like lacing across deep midnight pigments. Finished in a high-gloss fluid coating with subtle glitter and iridescent sheen, the surface shifts under varying light, creating a glowing, bioluminescent effect.

Styling & Space

At approximately 50 cm in diameter, this circular work breaks traditional rectangular boundaries. Its dark aesthetic and multi-directional composition make it an ideal statement piece above a mantle, accenting a quiet reading nook, or anchoring a modern minimalist interior.
