Artist Statement (Behind the Work)

"Desire and jealousy are rarely simple, bright emotions; they are dark, velvety, and layered with complex currents. In 'Envy,' I harnessed fluid acrylic marbling to capture this internal friction. Streams of deep slate, charcoal, and obsidian push against glowing veins of liquid gold and metallic bronze. As room light shifts across the surface, the metallic accents ignite, mirroring how unspoken desires shimmer beneath a quiet, restrained exterior. It invites the viewer to look directly into complex human emotions without judgment."

About the Artwork

Envy is an atmospheric square fluid artwork defined by sweeping, marble-like ribbons of cold yellow, warm bronze, purplish blue, and slate grey. Luminous metallic veins flow through serene stone-like textures, creating a sense of continuous movement and evoking the complex, irresistible pull of desire.

Hand-painted in Schwangau, Germany, this original artwork is created on a slim, high-density 0.2 cm (2 mm) rigid canvas board. Its compact 20 x 20 cm format is perfect for styling on shelves or desks, or for incorporating into a gallery wall in modern, Japandi, or minimalist interiors.
